Brandon Giltz

Owner, Director, Guitar and Bass Instructor

Picture
Brandon Giltz was born to teach music.  He began playing piano in his early childhood and since becoming a professional musician at the age of 17, he's already taught music to nearly two hundred students.  Having taught private lessons to children since he was 15, he's since become a professional multi-instrumentalist, national touring artist, soundtrack and theatrical composer, and professional music educator.

A native of Virginia Beach, VA, he graduated high school a year early to pursue music in 2016 and immediately moved to neighboring Norfolk, VA to establish his first teaching business.  Though successful in this venture, he dreamed of moving somewhere embracing musicianship as a way of life, and when the opportunity to work for a music school came in 2018, he moved to New Orleans and quickly established himself as the bassist for two gigging bands and as a guitar teacher.  He currently plays with the indie pop group Macavoy, and with funk/soul act Jules and Gold.

With the dream of making group music education accessible to everyone, he and singer Maddie Birch developed the brainchild that would become BandCamp NOLA and launched in March 2019.

Born and raised in the DC area, Maddie Birch moved to New Orleans in 2014 and never left. What began as university enrollment became an infatuation for the city around her and the desire to live and engage with the city quickly reached beyond the confines of Tulane’s campus and onto stages city-wide. Maddie graduated in May of 2018 with degrees in Linguistics, International Development and Social Entrepreneurship and continues to expand her work as a professional singer and cook. Being a lifelong musician and writer, she's dedicated her career to instilling in others a love for art and beauty through a mutual exchange of trust and creative vitality.

"Throughout my life I have had the blessing of interacting with and taking care of a wide variety of kids with an equally vast range of physical and mental capabilities, which has molded my approach to teaching into a responsible and safe, yet fun and engaging experience."
